Tup the bottom line is if the dog is a cull it'll be a cull whether it's kept in a castle or on a rusty chain. The same goes if it's a good coonhound it's gonna be good whether in the house or outside on a chain. No dog has ever been ruined by being socialized. Any one tries to tell me different I call them a liar!!

There are a lot of different opinions on that subject but I don't take my pups seriously hunting at night till they are in around 10 months to a year, depending in the dog. Up until then we spend time in obedience and lots of daytime bush running getting used to rivers and snags and learning how to fence and so on

I have a mountain feist that i paid too much for as a puppy that is the worst hunting dog I have ever had. He lives in the house and my daughter has grown attached to him so now I can't give him away. He is an awesome house pet though. I also have a mountain cur/bluetick cross I paid nearly nothing for and she started treein squirrel at five months and coon by herself at one year. She lives in the house and is a house pet too. I don't think it matters if they live in the house, if hunting is in them they will wanna hunt and please you. I do think makin them house pets makes them smarter and listen better than a dog with little interaction livin on a chain or in a pen that basically gets attention only when being fed. Dogs crave attention. Then ones who get it seem to turn out better.
