 Post subject: raising pup alone

is there any harm in raising a pup alone with no other dogs around?

You can raise him alone no problem huck, just make sure you take the time to introduce him and socialize him with other dogs even if they're just house dogs, that way when you put him in the woods with other hounds one day he knows how to act.
The biggest thing a dog learns from being around other dogs is how to act in a pack, what is sociably acceptable and so on

yep Its fine I am a one dog kinda guy I have one here one at father in laws so they are seperate no teaming up or dominance issues. I got a toy or two Kong chicken and rope for each of them to occupy them when they get bored suprising how much less they will destroy when they have a thing like this to do. :mrgreen:

i let my dog mess around with our lab alot and they run around in the yard and such
