I have a two year old walker that just randomly takes off and run the road she did it once and i didnt think much of it now its become a common occurrence i hunted my farm last night turned her loose she turned and ran right back to the road and took off running down it for no apparent reason...... any advice on why shes doing it or how i can break her of it would be greatly appreciated because this is a very frustrating thing

Does she open while you're driving in? Once in a while my dogs will do this, if they open on the road goin in they'll turn and run back to where they smelled the track. If you're hunting where you can't cut em off the road where they open, use the shocker when they run back to the road.

Not really unless she's just smelling one and never barks cause I used to always get on to her when she was a pup about box barking

It's a possibility she's doing that, do you just cut her straight from the truck? If so, you may wanna put her on a lead and walk her into the woods a little ways and cut her. Let her know you want her in the woods and not on the road.

have you ever turned her on a coon that crossed the road?
i turned a young dog on one coon that crossed the road yrs ago. it took me a month to get him to stop doing what you described your female doing after that one coon.
many times a young dog will get stuck in its mind something completely differant and unexpected then what you had planned.
best thing is to get some control on her with a shock collar so you can stop her and make her come. then send her the right way again.
