I'm not a hound expert. This pup showed up on our acreage about 10 days ago. We've been unable to locate the original owner. No tags, collar etc. The local vet ID'd him as a Walker, but to me he looks a little mixed. No way to confirm it, but I'd appreciate feedback from anyone that knows Walkers.
Regardless of his purity, we'd like to find a good home for him. The vet estimated him to be 1 year old (more or less) and very healthy. He has been neutered. Very friendly, obeys basic commands, good game sense (ask our stressed out cats). We already have 2 pups and are reluctantly letting this one go (free). We are in Gurley, AL.

this is prob gonna upset some 1 lol, but that is not a full blood hound. my rat terrier has longer ears than that dog. n does it hav full tail. i'd say more of a cur.

im pretty sure he has a full tail... but he is right about the ears they seem kind of small and far back for a hound

My personal Opinion is that pup looks to be walker mx with a cur or fiest or sumthin of that nature mainly cuz of the ears. No expert tho just good at guessing.

It looks like the dog youve found is a foxhound, because of the ears. coonhounds generally have slightly long ears but these are shorter. heres a picture of one of my walker
