Well me and dad have always been really into the remington model 700, but here a few weeks back we thought that we would give a browning a-bolt a try. So we had heard our local shop had gotten 3 in, but when we looked at them, we felt that the action was light and junky, nothing like the BAR my dad uses. And they were japanese to boot!! So I ended up settling on getting a model 70 with controlled round feed instead that was one of the newer ones made in Connecticut, it has one heck of an action!!! Just wondering how u guys feel on this subject...

Sand Hill Hounds,
Thanks for your reply. I'm happy to hear atleast someone has tried this rifle, and I was most certainly not trying to say something about the rifle's accuracy or real world hunting ability. i was just comparing it to one on the shelf. It's just that here in Indiana we have very few reasons to have high powered rifles in our gun shops, so when i went shopping, i was going after the browning but got turned off on the light action and bolt, that was all. Yet, with the fabulous salesmen we seem to have, they just couldn't let me down and made sure i found another rifle to my standards, hehehe can't let me go empty handed can they.... I'm just more of an old feel type guy, bulkier and stronger feeling. Remington 700's and Winchester 70's FOREVER!!
Thanks for your opinion, I hope that you understand where i am coming from though.
