I hunted a few years with a rifle and got tired of carrying it so i bought me a good pistol. I have a Taurus Tracker 22 revolver, I have been hunting with it for a long time and can usually have a coon on the ground in 1 or 2 shots.

I was just curious who all uses a pistol

I like a rifle just because a pistol is too loud.

My pistol is very accurate.. If you can hold steady you got it. I had a ruger pistol and it didnt shoot very good. I dunno if it was me or the sites, i traded it in for the pistol i got now.. Theres no trouble shootin them out with it

im sure the ruger was just fine. Most of the time shooting "semi" style pistols and revolvers are completely different.

I pack a Ruger Single Six and am not to bad a shot at close to medium ranges but when they get up about 50 ft. it makes it a little tougher to bring them out in 1 or 2 shots, for me anyway.

My better 1/2 totes a rifle but always has a pistil straped to his belt too. But he uses the rifle to shoot the coon out.

I have to use a scope on a Buck mark 22. You can use a shotgun scope on a pistol it just don,t have a lot of eye relief in it, but it sure does improve your hits compared to open sights. you can also see them pretty eyes shinnig back at you from way up there in them tall trees. Try one you will like it too! BSM

Hey folks I got a ruger 22/45 with a competition barrel and a red dot scope. The Competition barrel helps because its so short but the thickness keeps it from expanding so it holds a good pattern. The red dot scope is KING lemme tell ya. Find a nice tree to steady yourself on and watch out cuz they are coming down then folks.

I carry a Ruger Mark II on my light belt. I usually can hit what I shoot at. The noise comes in handy when scaring coyotes away.
