I have been looking into reloading for quite some time and the increasing prices of factory ammo have driven me to finally buy one. Was wondering if anyone has ever purchased any equipment from Lee Precision. They have a 50th anniversary kit that I have been interested in. If you own a Lee reloader, are you satisfied with it, and would you recommend one? Thanks alot

RCBS Rock Chucker II, RCBS has more die's and has better press'es and way more axsesories. And the die's are cheaper. What Caliber are you reloadin?

I forgot, since your new to reloading, dont get a progresive press, you can make to many mistakes by acident, and hurt your self or some one eles. Get a single stage press, that way you do one at a time, and can check and recheck each and every shell. It may not sound like alot but 3 Gr's of powder can make alot of differance. With a single stage press and a manuel scale you are less likely to make an over load mistake. And every one likes there own bullets, but I recamend Barnes, and Hornady. I dont much care for Nosler or Siearra. Barnes tripple shock are really good and Hornady A-Max, and they both make great hand gun bullets too. The Hornady XTP's are great. Barnes makes a bullet called a Bannded Solid, and in .30 Cal they are awesome.

I'd get a RCBS chargemaster pro electronic self dispensing scale, cuts loading charge time by a TON. I can load 50 rnds of 300 ultra in 30 min, and the scales accuracy has improved my groups as well. each one needs to be checked after the beep goes off, but it is a far superior tool

i like the lee press but use the rcbs dies. i also have gotten an electrice scale. i makes it alot easer to load. i had to many loads not being quit rite and always having to dubble check the loads.

Most any press is good although I do like turret style presses. I use a redding T-7 press and Redding dies. I lik the Redding dies best, especially the tungsten carbide straight wall dies.

Two helpful hints. Follow all recipes exactly, and don't go straight for the max loads. two, Spend your money on a scale. a good single stage press will work as well as a bazillion dollar progressive, just much slower. a good scale, beam, electronic or otherwise, is worth every penny.

i have the 50 anniversary kit here at school and i have an rcbs O press at home and use rcbs dies. like mentioned above most presses are good as another.

go with carbide dies for pistol rounds takes a lot of oiling headache out.

lee makes good "budget class" stuff

Im reloadin .38 special. I went out and used a guys progressive rcbs loader yesterday. It was great. I really liked how it worked. For my own machine though I will probably start out with a single stage for budgets sake. Its a good family friend who is pretty knowledgable on the specifics and technical aspects and walked me through safety and how everything works.

I like the Lee presses, Lee auto-prime, and some of the other tools.
I prefer Redding dies over Lee, RCBS, and Lyman.
I like the steel and finish of the Lee dies, but like the set screw on Redding and RCBS dies.

Most any die will work on any press. So don't get hung up on brand names. I have all different brands of equipment.

I have had a few presses, and currently using an RCBS rock chucker.

Check e-bay to see if they will still allow sale of reloading equipment.
I have bought quite a few dies and other things cheap on e-bay, but since they have prohibitted anything to do with guns including bullets and brass, I am not sure they allow reloading tools.

you'd probably be better off going to gunbroker.com at this point. I've sold alot of reloading gear there.
