Which style of chain do you guys use? And why? I'm sure there is not much difference in strength? I tend to like the rectangular one that I get at the hardware store cut to sizes that you want. Also which snap do you like best to hook on the collar? Thanks.

i use plastic coated cable, chain tends to knot up unless u put a swivel halfway through. cable is a little more expensive but will outlast 3 chains. as for snaps the nickel plated will rust but the brass will ware out.

I use the cable too because they are strong and lightweight. I have had my dog on one for close to a year and the cable is still in as good as shape as the day I opened it.

I had one on a cable for a little over a year and shebroke it twice. The plastic coated kind from the hardware store not the petstore kind. I put her on a chain and now the only problems I have are that they know how to undo the clips. Two of em do anyways. I use the big clips like on a leash. I've tried others and had problems with them breaking them
