if your pocket is say north of your trap. which jaw do you set closest to the pocket. like on a blind set you put the loose jaw toward the steep bank? is that rite? can someone help me out. i just wanna catch a few coon to work my dog

You got it right on the money!! Is it hide season where you are now? Or are you allowed to foothold trap and kill all year there?

not season yet. but im new at this and im getting my traps together and bait and scouting this weekend and wanted to find where ima put my sets and how ima do um. i never trapped b4 but i have been on every website and reading everything i can to learn

Right on good for you!! I just wondered I'm up here in Canada and just interested in what your seasons are down south!! I run a fair large trapline up here in the great white north, and will help you out with any advice you need!! Just shoot me a pm anytime.

thanks our season is november 20th - march 31st. but you can get a nusience license and trap year round but i plan on using my dog to hunt when trapping is closed. thanks man. im headed to my camp in about an hour to go run my dog on a creek bed see if we cant jump something up. i plan on goin put out a few cans of sardines b4 dark then go back with my dog after dark and see if he can get on something
