First off i live in central illinios. Got a letter in the mail yesterday concerning a new fur buyer rout or something. They were from north of me just alittle ways. NAFTA or something like that? Anyway the letter said something about advances in money, I'm not sure what that is either. The prices where terrible like 2.00 for coon 5 for a coyote, .60 cents for a rat? Last year I got 10 for a decent coon, 2.00 for a rat. What the hell? Anyone else get this letter?

You got the letter from NAFA. They are one of two fur auctions in North America. What they are offering if fur pick up. The prices they are offering you are only an advance. Once they auction your furs you will be paid the remainder by cheque!!!!! I have been dealing with Nafa for years they won't rip u off!! Lol. All the furs in north America get sold through them or fur harvesters in North Bay Ontario. Go to NAFA.ca. And you can find a number to call them and they will explain everything.
It's a good program their offering. That way you guys south of the border can ship your furs direct for free. Rather than getting burnt by the fur buyer!!!

I wish I lived anywhere near that route. I cannot stomach the fur buyers we have around here. I understand that everyone has to make some money in this game, but to see some of these crooks lying to kids just pisses me off. We got a half-way honest one that showed up last year. I don't trust him because his prices seem honest and he shows up at a normal hour to buy (after everyone is off work). Most of them around here show up at a gas station or lumber yard around noon just so you don't have time to negotiate before heading back to work.
