I talked to a fur buyer a couple days ago and he says to expect a 10 dollar average on coons and cats to top an easy 125. Ive heard different from so many people that I dont see how this can be true. I thought they were gonna be alot lower this year. Does anyone have any info?

I was told by a fur buyer here in ohio to only kill coon 12 pounds and up,then skin them, flesh them, and strech them and when they are dry put them in garbage bags and put them in the frezzer. Like arkansas frog said they still have alot of coon left over from last year.

Our season hasn't opened yet, but my normal buyer says he probably won't even buy any for the first couple weeks. He said after that $2-$4. Maybe $6 for a huge one. That's the worst it's been here in the 15 years I've been old enough to hunt.

It don't matter what state you or from are who your buyer is all hides goes to china,Greece,Russia and until they get it worked out they are not going bring nothing.I know some buyers have a contract to buy so many hides for a certain price. so if you are running all over looking for a buyer that will give you a dollar more it is not worth it.
i would not kill a coon and skin it for 5 bucks, let them live and let them multiply and when fur is good you will have the coons.

Yep It aint Good, I just recieved this E-Mail from my Fur Buyer In Wahoo Nebraska "Rock Creek Fur's" and here's his Price's/Reply on Coon & Red Fox,
"Yes we are still in business. We are going to pay $6 for carcass coon with small, sows, damaged at no value. Most snared coon will be considered damaged this season so I would not purposely snare coon this season. Approximately 80-90% of coon should make the grade. Fox are about the same. Starting on the 15th I will be running a route up the river stopping by Plattsmouth and Blair but could meet you in between as I pass through. Otherwise some one is in the shop in Wahoo most nights. "
I guess these Low Price's are pretty much the same all through the Mid-West, If there's anyone In Eastern Nebraska or Western Iowa who need's the contact Info. for this Fur Buyer Shoot me an E-Mail and I'll give you his Contact Info., Have A Goodun !
