we quit using cb's in the late 70's and now we use marine vhf/uhf radios. they are a whole lot better and they are on a different frequincy so theres no interference or anything like that. i coyote hunt of a morning with greyhounds and coonhunt or runn coyote hounds at night

We use the marine radios too. All the coon hunters here have one so it makes it easy. It's a small town where all the coon hunters know each other and in the mountains our cell phones don't work, plus some folks ain't got one. The radios are handy. We've all got one in the truck, as handheld, and one in the house.

We use Icoms and similar type radios in the truck and handhelds w/ private channels when bear and yote hunting. Usually coon hunt alone so don't really use it then. :)

Get caught using a two way radio here while deer hunting and you'll be lucky if the DNR leaves you anything to hunt with. of course the same thing goes if they catch us deer hunting with dogs. Most of us have had one in at least one of our vehicles. Most of the strip miners and truckers still do. I still have mine to put back in my new truck but can't bring myself to hack up the interior.

Same goes for here in Northwest Ohio
