I just purchased a 1988 GMC 3/4 ton 2wd pick up 350ci small block w. tow package. the stock tires are 225/75/16's i was wondering if anyone would think itd rob to much power and make problems if i put some 31x10x50's on it...so basiclly would i be ok with stock gears and 31x10x50's? i am pretty into cars and trucks ive learned alot but yet have alot to learn im great with motors but havnt got into gears and such too deeply..thanks.. the meatier the tire i can cram under it the more places i can get to coon hunt :D :D :D thanks.

I want to get some Interco Super Swampers... 8) but they dont go down to the recommended tire size.

i don't think they make 31x10.50's for a 16inch rim. a 265/75/16 would be the same as a 31x10.50. you could probably go up to a 285 that would be like a 33, just as long as it don't rub the finder well.

I agree. If a 15" wheel will fit over your brake rotors, I'd go to 15's and run the 31's. Otherwise, you'll have to go with the 265 or 285's on your stock rims. If that still doesn't fit, you can get a body lift for around 100 bucks, or take a sawzall to the fenders.

I don't understand half the stuff you typed! But... my husband put 31x10x50 Maxxis Mudders on one of his trucks. He loves them, but he gets crappy gas mileage on the highway (when he uses it). Have fun with your new toy!! :)

88 3/4 to you should be able to fit a 315 under there but you wouldn't have no power. 265 will be about right.

If I figured right your stock tires are 29 inches tall 9 inches wide a 245/75/16 is about 30 inches tall 9.5 wide most 265/75/16 are closer to 32 inches tall a 255/70/16 is 30 inches tall 10 wide I recomend these but they are hard to find a 31/10.5/15 would work well also I would not go any taller if towing anything
