I live in western virginia and hunt all mountainous virginia and west virginia National Forest. I have no corn fields to hunt and the creeks are just rocky runs that have no fish or frogs or anything like that. where can I find the coon? Do you just hunt the acorns like deer huntin? I came down a big hollow the other night and dog tree'd a big ol coon in a pine tree. What are coons in my area eating this time of year?

we do have some corn fields but when we harvested them the coons seem to go to the mountains to the acorns, we have been treeing in pine trees for about a week stright!

Ok thanks, guess I'll ignore the creeks and stick to the big woods with the acorns then. Im not really new at this but going from wisconsin flat agriculture to Va/Wva mountains is just way different hunting.
