Looking for info about hunting near STL. I grew up in Flora, IL not too far east. Great hunting there.

I'm more interested in the hunting in and around Confluence Point where the Missouri and Mississippi run together. Seems like there is a lot of timber around there. I'm sure you can't hunt some of it when water is up but what about the rest of the time? Looks like some pretty good sized state parks on both sides of them.

Any info you can provide me with I'd appreciate very much. If you've got any links to any DNR regulations I'd appreciate it very much.

Paul, I was up there last week. Some good large coons on the side of the road outside of St. Louis in IL.

Here is a link to the IL DNR Regs: http://www.dnr.illinois.gov/Pages/default.aspx

Yeah there is some nice hunting around there. I know some guys who live on the IL side not too far north and they hunt a lot of the islands in the Mississippi river. They say there is some unreal hunting out on those islands.

I was just looking on Google Maps at Confluence Point and it looks like a lot of timber and not many houses. I'd say it gets flooded too often to live in the point. Probably pretty good hunting though. I'd say in between those two big rivers you don't have to worry about a dog crossing too bad. I can't see a dog crossing a mile of open water but I'm sure they could if they wanted to.

Nothing better than hunting good old fashioned river bottoms!
