I'm new to it. haven't actually hunted yet. I've gone to a field trial and bear race, but my Redbone is only 4 months old, so just hung out. I'm around Tacoma area. There's another guy who I've talked to and he has been training his dogs. We plan on getting them together during the summer to train.
Where are you at?

I am from Lacey
I have looked at this site religiously for years and this is my first post.
I retired form the Army in 2007 lived in Lacey since 1999 and alway wanted to have a hound and do some huntng just never got around to it. I grew up in South Texas and my father always had hounds that we hunted a little and that was years ago. I would love to start hunting in Washington it just seems that there are so many rules and restrictions. I am out of country right now but returning to Lacey in Jul-Aug time frame been wanting to get a Cameron Bluetick but want to do the breed justice and do not know much about Big Game Hunting and I know the rules are very strick with hounds. I love Blueticks and would love to just do some pleasure hunting I may look into Sandy River Kennel and the Washington State Coonhound Association to see what suggestions they may have for getting a hound and suggestions on hunting areas. I just want to get into pleasure hunting with a hound and look forward to it when I get back home, so hopefully maybe one day we can all link up and do some hunting together.

Take are to All

Ford, not sure what part of Washington you are from, but your best bet is to hook up w/ a club that is closest to you. That way you can meet some fellow hound hunters.

henkejeff,

There is a club that is relatively close to you. Based out of Allyn, WA. It is the Olympic Tree hound Association. They have lots of stuff going on all summer.
