Hockeydiva25,
Did they ticket you or just harrass you and threaten to get your Chain of Command involved?

The mp's wrote me a ticket for tresspassing and nothing ever came of it. As for my husband they put it on the blotter and told his chain of command, his commander just laughed and told him to stop being so redneck on post and just go back to hunting off post. I think he was lucky that his chain of command is from Utah and North Carolina instead of somewhere less understanding. Just wondering if anyone stationed at lewis besides us actually has hounds ?

Well that sucks I must just be lucky so far. Im gonna try and find out about being allowed to hunt at night since it is a valid hunting season and such and they have those open during the day for all the other hunters I may have to pull the being discriminated against for not being a normal hunter or something but maybe i can get the few houndsmen and ladies a special pass to hunt at night. Ill keep you all informed and if i do ill post what I had to do. and there are a few of us out there lol

Yeah I got caught out thier once. I was parked on the nisqually side and walked up to range I think 68 and got a coon and the MP's came and I hid, then they went threw the brush looking for me. He he he they didn't get me but the nisqually police and a state trooper were waiting for me at my truck. Lol lol and all they did was tell me no one was allowed along the river after dark and wanted to see my Millitary ID card, and hunting liecence. Then I showed them the ft. lewis hunting and fishing pamphlett and it said that ft. lewis goes completely by the wa state hunting and fishing regulations. Then they told me that I have to leave and they got my cell number and told me that they would call me back when it was cleared up weather or not if I could hunt at night or not. The state trooper followed me all the way to I-5.

justified selfishness?

WTF

Justified selfishness = rationalization...which is lying to one's self.

Sorry I didn't see this before. As I've grown older I've come to realize that people should get it while they can. If you can hunt for the timber companies, more power to you. Why take one for the team when the rest of the team is going to do what you just turned down. So certainly its selfish but clearly justified. Why should person X refuse to hunt for the timber companies when people Y and Z are standing in line to do it. When I hunted for Rayoneer, the same people in the hound council meetings bitching about people hunting for the timber companies were calling Rayoneer BEGGING for permits. Its a vicious circle I'm glad I don't deal with anymore. I can have my dogs in the woods anytime I choose, no questions asked.

wondering if there are still coon hunts in Washington? Haven't been able to see any updates on the hound council or WA Coon Assoc websites. Does anyone have suggestions for good info on this kind of stuff?
