I've considered this with my own packs myself.

I have yet to come to conculsion if I want to breed a tree minded accurate dog or a get treed not as accurate coondog to coyote hound. I have a very well breed pack of coyote hounds that I've created. Mother to dog I have in mind for stud would only trash on a coon when she got older 7+ she carried many of coons in over nights and was a fairly nice tree dog until the coyotes went to barking. We bred her to a nephew of her several times in I got one male that has treed a couple coons. Heck of a locate sounds like his mom under coon. U wouldn't thnk it was same dog by diff of barkn on coyote or coon.

Mack twain did this back in the day why his bloodline was so powerful on track. Even 5 6 generations on down.

If you do this let me know what you get.
