There will be some possible forum downtime this week as we are moving to a new updated server. I will post more when I know more details of the upgrade.

Just an update that this upgrade will be taking place at any time now.

There may be some missing post after it happens as well as new users who registered that did not make it over......the reason is because a copy of the site is placed on a new server and mirrored against the old server, so when the switch is flipped on the new server, to limit the amount of downtime, the new server has a copy of the old server.

Since the copy of the site is on the new server, any post made after the copy has been made will not show up on the new server.

Usually, I handle server changes but this time, my hosting company is handling it as they are the ones upgrading the server. So, I am in the dark on the complete timeline of the backup being done to the new server and when the switch will take place. So I have no idea how much data will be lost in the migration since I am not persoanlly handling the server change this time.

Received an email that the server migration has begun. We have closed off account registrations to try and limit the accounts that do not make it over in the server migration. Forum Registration will re-open once we have completed the server transfer.

I will post another reminder that there will be some lost post in the process as explained above. If you lost post in the server transfer, you will have to repost.

Server migration is completed. It is still possible, depending on your ISP, you may not be able to access the new server due to the DNS change to the new server. Depends on how fast your ISP is with DNS updating and cache.

So it is possible, since the there is two servers running mirroring each other (done to limit downtime), that you are accessing the old server while others are accessing the new server. If you are one of the ones that are accessing the old server until the DNS propagation is complete, your post will not show on the new server.

I will hold off until tomorrow on opening the forum registration back up in case of those still viewing the site on the old server.
