The annual CoonDawgs.com Youth Essay Contest was born from an idea on a thread on here about youths and written words over electronic devices - computers, texting phones, and etc....
The Lowdown:
Write a 500 word or more essay on hunting with hounds -- that can be coon hunting, squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting, bear hunting, and etc... but the essay must be about hunting with hounds.
The Rules:
• Open to age 17 and under*.
• Must be hand written on lined paper - not blank paper or printed off computer.
• Must be legible (readable) - Handwriting will count
• One entry per youth
• One overall winner will be chosen from all submitted entries -- Will be graded on content, neatness, spelling and handwriting
• Contest runs from 01 Sep 2013 to 31 Oct 2013 (Must be postmarked by 31 Oct 2013)
*Must be under 17 at contest end date - 31 Oct 2013.

A One Year Subscription to the magazine of your choice:
Coonhound Bloodlines, American Cooner, Full Cry, or The Rabbit Hunter
A Bushnell Backtrack GPS
