Last night I went to let my hounds out to run around in the yard. My son just happens to turn on the tracking receiver and there was a signal coming in. It took a minute or two to figure out that one of my collars was on and that the magnet was not turning the collar off. I tried the magnet in my other collar and it will shut off the collar. My question is can a magnet go bad?

Sometimes the switch will stick and the magnet will not shut the collar off.

magnets do "go bad" as well. Did you try another magnet in collar? Good luck, Paul Conway.

I've got the same deal with one of my wildlife collars last weekend, was getting allot of bleed over and couldn't figure it out.. Turns out a spare collar I had in my truck was not turning off.

I've had to replace the magnet switch in them before.
