I bought a tracker classic with strike collars used. CHEAP. $359. included the transmitter w/NEAR button, and 1 STRIKE collar, all barely used. A friend of mine had the STRIKE collars and traded them in for the INTELO collars. he said the collars had a terrible range and he couldnt pinpoint his dogs very well. I live in Kansas and it is pretty flat here. Have any of you tried the STRIKE collars? or had good or bad experiences with these collar?? let me know.. thanks a bunch. , cody

I have two strike collars and have never had a problem locating my dogs. When i bought my unit i didn't get intelo's cause they are too strong when the dogs are close and you will have a tendency to 180 them and not be able to track them. If you have dogs that tend to stay a few miles out you might want to go with intelo but i have tracked my dogs a 4 and half miles with my strike collars and i know they work out farther than that but thats the farthest i have ever had to track them. They are good collars but honestly it all boils down to personal preference. hope this will help you out.

Strike collars are better that intellos because you are not restricted to one kind of battery. The Intello will get 250 hours and the Strike will give you 700 hours. The Strike will also reach out just as far as the Intello if you use 2 1/2aa batteries. Just the battery life alone is reason enough to get the Strike collars.

Most of the Tracker problems are because of user error. They are different than most tracking systems and are very sensative if you use them right. You do not use them like a regular system, their gain is very different.

I love my tracker Maxima! I have both the intello and strike collars and Some WLM Magnum convertables and like them all. I like the intellos over the Strike just because The strike collars seems like a cheaper version of the Wildlife collars- it's what's in your head sometimes I guess. BUT I always worry about the end magnets coming off (though if you seat them well they pretty much always stay) the intellos and the need for two long batteries. I like the strikes magnet under the collar and the battery versitillity like the Wildlife ones. Range on all is good when the strike collar has the two 1/2 AA batteries in it. All three collars- Intello, Strike, and Wildlife's magnum convertables have held up very well for me. Good luck, PaulC.

It is an attenuator and it works at 1/2 mile. It makes it so the signal is not so powerful it is hard to find close.

:D I live in Mankato Ks, 40 miles from you!! Either one of those collars will work good in this country. The intello will have more range. If you get up this way give me a call and I can show you the difference in them. 1-800-584-5490 or http://www.houndsupplies.com You'll enjoy that system, that was a good price if it works right.

I sell them for $5 a piece with free shipping as long as you order 4 or more. If anybody is interested I am putting together an order and trying to order as many as I can.

I have two of the intello collars. I have recently had a problem with them not shutting off and draining batteries. Had to replace the end cap on one. There is no indicator that your batteries are getting low. I cut the dogs loose one night and was getting a good signal. Within an hour, no signal at all. The batteries had died on me. I have another collar that apparantly got water into it. Now I have to send that one back. The range is good on the intello collars, but I cant say much else for them. Tracker customer service is nice to deal with and is usually helpful. That doesnt make spending money to fix these expensive collars any easier though.
