Looking forward to seeing your hunts. We're buried in 16" of snow and -6 degree temps with colder wind chill so I haven't been out for a week. Have had the hound inside in a crate and he's getting pretty restless. It's 2nd shotgun season for deer this weekend so maybe I'll get some tracks made down to the river and see how many coon tracks there are. I even have some larger aggressive mud tires on my F150 and it still bottoms out in this stuff so I'm scared to take it out into the fields.

Yeah, my hunting has been totally shut down for the last 2 weeks due to 12-16" of snow and then just a little freezing rain so it's like walking on glass. I've barely had the hound out of his kennel even to walk and I hate it. It actually got up in the lower 20's a couple days but not above freezing. The only good news his, he's put a little weight back on so he's ready to run hard if we ever get this snow softened up some. The trappers I've talked to that have just a few traps under some open culverts say there is almost no coon movement beyond right by their dens. I'm sure there are some getting out now, but it's not worth it for the dog to try walking on and getting tore up pads and I don't do so well in knee high crunchy snow either.

correct. that is all you can put on the garmin. i would say in the next 4-5 years we will see one where google earth will be able to go on.

here is part of last nights hunt. some of the track is of us walking back to the truck not the greatest night but ended up seeing some coons at the end.

Looks good coonsmen. We haven't gotten rid of any of our snow yet, and now it has 1/2 inch of ice on top of it. Other than a few short walks in the daytime I haven't had my hound out since mid December. Even then he cut one of his pads on the ice a little because I saw blood in some of his tracks. It's been the worst winter I can remember. The only time it's gotten warm enough to melt any of the snow it's been an ice storm. Sounds like we're going to get a warm spell this week and have a chance to hit 40 if we're lucky. I bet the coon will be running good.
