90 % of the coyotes we catch are in the dirt hole set. We have good luck wth the scent post set also. Bait you can use several different types depending sometimes on weather .If legal where you are beaver meat works really wel lor any type of commercial bait bought from trap supply houses. You need to remember to use a good lure and good urine, but most imporant regardless of set you use you always need to be on location.

me myself caught more yotes in a flat set I think the dirthole makes em suspicious, I use curiosty lures on the flat set like evanace or a fox gland lure from kattz bro lures when making the flat set an a call lure I blend and make it appear as natural as possible to take away from any suspision. the best trap i ever used for coyote was the 1 3/4 offset jaw victor k-9 4x4 pro, you can bed and cover it alittle more an its still lightning fast. I caught 56 in 3 weeks from mostly all flat sets. good luck

Im in kansas but I do very well with snares in fence rows or thick brush. Blind sets and scent posts work well too. R and P outdoors has some good baits and lures. I believe their website is rpoutdoors.com and it ships fast.
Good luck
