i have a problem with one of my pups. if the coons are moving shes hard to beat. shes a heck of a hunter and will fire off every time. but when the coons arnt feeding she like to tree a possum. she knows shes doing wrong because she'll only half tree and come to me with her head down and her tail bettwen her legs. ive tried beating her and smothering her. nothing seems to work. shes a good prosect, and has the making of a champion. i dont want to ruin her, so does anyone know of another way to try to break her.

I don't think beating a dog is ever the answer. I do hear the shock collars work wonders though.

shoot it out to the dog let it taste it and shock the ##*%* out of it and keep shocking it. hook the dog up and pull it towards it and if it goes shock it again if it pulls to run from it then its over... one time for my dog worked

yeah some dogs do. but its a easy fix in most cases. so why would you let them do it. comp dog or house dog doesnt matter. id hate to walk a mile to a tree and have another grinner looking at me if i could have stopped it

i also bnelieve beatinmg isnt the answer are you in a bad coon population if so maybe shes just to excited ans wants to tree what ever she puts up a tree how old is she id drop out so coon to her and really pet her up we she trees coon but do the oppisite when she has a possum just hook her up say nothing to her and walk her down and then let looses i believe this could work better on you and her again is the coon population really thin where you hunt at least she trees and stays there after i believe she sees your not happy with her treein poss i believe she will break her self unless the dog is old let me know what happens
