I am working now for a small college that trains students to be missionaries. It is further from home and I am earning less but I am working with students who are more focused on what they want to do. My job is the General Maintenance Lead and a big part of it will be to work close with the students in teaching them good old fashioned work skills and life skills. No sense in going halfway around the world to spread the gospel if you don't know how to work hard and get along with other people. I want to thank those that prayed and gave encouragement, this is more a ministry than a job so for me that was a big plus.

I'll be praying from over my way. Might be something a whole lot better coming your way. Probably doesn't look like it at the moment, but keep trusting God.

Many thanks for your prayers. I am thinking about becoming an EMT. Many times over the years when dealing with emergencies I felt like it was energizing. I need a trade where taking care of people is the main thing because God years ago showed me that I was to serve as a blessing to many. My grandma prayed the covenant of Abraham over me when I was a teen and I don't doubt that the Lord laid it on her heart to lay hands on me to seal that.

Would you be willing to relocate? I know that the state of Ky is hiring corrections officers right now. With your track record, you should have no trouble getting a job here... Posted using Outdoor Hub Campfire

Update on my request. I had an interview yesterday at a small missionary training school. They need a maintenance senior supervisor who is able to work along side and mentor students preparing to become missionaries. Pay may not be what I was at but it has a lot of the things I was enjoying including being able to shepherd those who will go into all the world. They had two of us interviewing for the position. Pray that God's plan will be clear to all of us in this as this unfolds in the next week or so. The night I lost my job was right around the tornadoes that happened in Moore, OK. Then they had several repeats through that area. Believe me, my prayers for whatever my family was going through were in the bigger sense of how much other people are hurting and in need more than we were. God has been faithful over the last month and hopefully we will see His answer to our prayer for new long term work.

Second interview tomorrow, hoping this works out. It would be a good fit for me of work and ministry.

You are a blessing to many. I remember how you were praying for me when our boy came early and I lost my job at the same time . Your words were an encouragement to our family. The bible tells us that the Lord will provide our needs and He has proven this time and again in my life. I know this is only words but sometimes we get a little disheartened when things aren't moving as fast as we would like. I will be praying this job will go through. From how you speak on here it sounds like a good fit for ya.
In Christ

Thanks Beaublue, how is your family down in St. Ansgar? You all went through a time I remember that. Yes, the interview went well. What they need there will definitely be an expansion of what I have done before. They need someone who can manage contractors for some facility upgrades (paint, paving, window work, roofing) in the short term but long term work with their student work program which is incorporated with the classroom training as they want smarts both in the head and the heart as students prepare to go as missionaries. I like the whole concept and hope they want me to come work there.
Friday update-They didn't offer me the job. They liked me but want someone who is a people and task driver more than I am as in doesn't mind butting heads to get things done.
