I have never had any luck or heard of much success from anyone trying to break a dog from chewing the tree. It is what it is ..... I my-self don't mind a dog that chews the tree. They are the most dependable tree dogs .......... A dog that chews the tree is a stay put tree dog .... they aren't going ANYWHERE!

I believe the tabasco sauce was a joke ... at least I hope it was .... Doing this could actually ruin your hounds nose. The stuff is so strong it can burn the inside of their nose and they will never be able to smell nearly as good as they used to, thus ruining your Hunting dog. Just wanted to clairfy that you DO NOT Want to do this!!

Like any bad habits the longer it gos on.Its harder to break..You can buy a can of (NO CHEW) its used with horses and dogs to stop chewing. It works.. But takes time. Most dogs are never 100% broke from chewing some will still do it a little. You can also get the large teeth ground down..It will help some...A lot of guys have that done....A shocking collar also helps but takes time and you only do it.When the (dogs mouth) is on the tree....Start off on low settings........It wont hurt the dogs treeing at all...

it is a problem because sometimes he gets to chewing and stops barking. i am not worried about him staying treed and i dont' really care if he chews but he aint doing no good if he chews and dont bark. this aint no junk dog either a very good dog, and chews more on a cold track. i have heard of cutting their teeth but heard it only works for about 6 months. someone suggested i run a muzzle on him, that would allow him to bark but not get to the tree. i have never heard of NO CHEW. what is it exactly.

no chew is a spray that taste bad to a dog. i have heard the wire basket muzzle works good too. but the only problem with a muzzle is that you cant wear them in the hunts. but if you just pleasure hunt it would be great for you and cost less then 20 bucks. they where designed for grey hounds. GOOD LUCK

that no chew looks like something you spray on what they are chewing on. would i spray it on the tree. or is there a trick to it. i like the muzzle idea but i don't like the idea of him not being able to defend himself if a yote were to come up.

ive never used no chew spray but i know people who do. the way i understand it is they get there leash their dog and spray the tree where the dog is treeing. then they stand back and let them tree and when they chew they get a nasty taste in their mouth. but chet is the guy who should answer that for you if it has worked for him. GOOD LUCK
