i need some input on how ya'll set up your scanner, power amp, and yagi. i know how to hook them up, but what are the best way's of mounting or not mounting? i heard it's not a good idea to hook power amp directly to scanner? let's see some pic's of your set-ups

I have been using this setup 3 years now with no problems. The Icom has velcro on the back and velcro is on the yagi.



I have heard that the booster can strip the BNC connection on the Icom, but I haven't had that issue. The only time I take the icom off the yagi is when I chnage my rech. batteries out. I do not have to remove the booster to do so, so the booster stays on at all times. I can change the battery out of the booster as well without having to remove it from the Icom too.

Ur correct, remove the amp only when needed. That is what breaks the BNC connector and also having the amp velcro down to the antenna prevents this also.

i have the exact same setup has buckshot. seems to work fine.
