is it possible?
a friend of mine has a real nice mtn cur that is turning on hot. the dog hunts real well by itself, but when it hunts with other dogs it want to face bark. i don't want my dog to pick up the habit so i won't hunt my dog with it. we are trying to figure out what we can do cause we both love our dogs and we enjoy hunting together. we want to hunt without leaving one of the dogs at home.
any suggestions on how to correct this???

I'd say just take turns on which dog you hunt. Don't hunt them together.

I don't want to hurt anyones feelings with this response so please do not take this personal. You need to come down on this dog as if it's very life depended on it. Face barking is not good. It could very easily grow into fighting and illness. The way I look at it is this. The dog is absolutely no good to anyone if it is showing aggression at the tree or anywhere els for that matter. So go ahead and rain down on this dog HARD for face barking every time it trie's it. I mean HARD. If it helps great. If it doesn't then you tried.

A lot of curs are like this..With most Id say its just the way they are bred...When you keep breeding dogs that have this Real bad Fault for several genations. They are going to be like this.....It might be impossible to break them....Theres nothing wrong with taking both dogs and only hunting one at a time...We do that a lot.Just to hunt a dog alone makes them a better dog anyway in the long run...

i went back and read all the relevant posts. sorry for not doing this sooner.
i also learned i was using the search feature wrong i was typing in face barking but was not checking the "all" term button. it was automatically set on the "any" term option. can you say egg on face?

You cant break it. You can just keep them from doing it while you are around.
