How will that help? It will only stop him when you are close enough to see or hear him. I have also seen dogs shocked for fighting another dog react violently when shocked around the dog he is having the confrontation with. I guess he though the other dog was causing the discomfort. You never "REALLY" break an ill dog. You can just keep the behavior hidden.

i had a cur once-- he loved to fight-- after a fight he would lick whatever dog he beat up- hard to describe-- he wasnt mean , he just loved to fight -- nyways - i ran a shock collar on him all the time- id tie him close to another male-sometimes id leave a bone between them and sit in house and watch him out the window i set him up=- if i heard any dog growl i shocked him-- if i saw him walk stiff legged or scratch with hind feet i shocked him--if i saw hair raise on either dog i shocked him-- made a pup trainer of him -- that is only dog that i ever broke -- only one i tried very hard after he was bad to fight -he came here like that and had no manners at all -- - worth a shot with your dog i dont think anybody can say for sure he cant be broke at 14 months-- the problem is you need some other male dogs to train him with and i wouldnt blame anybody that didnt want to hunt with yours --

i run bear dogs and normally raise a lot of dogs- hunt several dogs at once- i dont tolerate any fighting between dogs -- i let them out to empty out and really watch young males -- if i see any of the above i shock them-- you have to shock them before the fight starts-you have to recognise body lanquage-- timing is the key to teaching them anything --

when they are rolling on the ground its too late=-if dogs fite a lot and develop a grudge its too late -

- i agree with some of the guys in previous posts - seen a few light broke dogs-they get that way from people breaking fights up at trees - - u cant just shock him at tree after fight starts- likely to make them fight harder -- i cant tell how bad your dog is --mean dogs need to be culled- some agression is to be expected in most young males-- its up to you to teach him some manners- i culled one pup once - i never tried to train him -- he was MEAN AS A SNAKE --and i sure dont want to encourage you to try and save that type dog- it could be your dog just hasnt been to school yet -
if hes really mean he could seriously hurt your buddies dog-

sometimes helps to neuter dogs and sometimes doesnt make any difference --
