A water hose when you are home works WONDERS!
This is how we do it.. Dog starts barking.. I tell them to "get in your House!" they don't do it... they get the water hose until they do. I have a bunch of 8 week old puppies who will hit their house quick after a couple of lessons..
I have one bluetick at the house who is a little on the slow side.. he had to first be taught what "get in your house" means.. I make him go in his house at feeding time and use that command... Once he started recognizing it.. I used it, with the water hose, for the endless whining problems...
Works pretty slick... If you have neighbors who complain while you are away.. you might look at bark collars...

I had one the same as swamp stalker... it's now in someone else's kennel. good runner, bad kennel manners just as bad as poor runner and good kennel manners in my thoughts. I did let the fella know about his kennel manners being selling him. Bark collars are the way to go. As important as tracking collars and shocking collars unless you live on 400 acres in Montana. LOL.. . good luck, Paul Conway.

My friend had a plott that would bark all the time. At home in the truck box. It didn't matter. You put a shocking collar on him, he would still test that collar out every 15 to 20 minutes. When the owner moved out of his house he left the dog with son who bought the house from him. The dog never barked until about 5 minutes before the father would come over to visit. It would bark none stop until the father left. Craziest, hardheadiest, (don't know if that is a word)dog you would ever meet. Won't find one like that in my kennel.
