It should,if they are real bad they may not totally straighten out.You may still notice a slight bow as an adult.

How old are they? If they are almost fully grown you may not be able to get the legs to straighten out without braces. I agree with only feeding an adult dog food (or puppy food specifically meant for large breed pups) and giving the dog plenty of sunshine but the dog must also have lots of exercise it it is a pup. The more use bones get the more the body will strengthen those bones. A dog running and jumping every day will have greater bone density than a dog kept in a kennel all the time and it's bones will be less likely to bend or break. If the dog isn't exercised while correcting its diet the bones won't be high priority on the list of where the dog's body repairs itself and you want to repair those leg bones. Feeding a puppy food for the average puppy will give a hound too much of what goes into building muscle and not enough for its skeleton with the result that the bones don't grow dense enough and cannot support the muscle they have to carry. Hounds grow long and tall and put on weight when they are older. That is why so many young ones look thin when they are perfectly healthy.

Let me clarify my statement a little. In severe case ,the bones are weak from the rickets, excess exercise ads undo stress to the weaken bones, thus causing a slower recovery with treatment.I by no means mean no exercise, but untill treatment can have several days to start taking effect the pup shouldnt have free run of a large area all the time..This will speed the healing process in most cases.

I dealt with a pup one time that was so severe she was literaly walking on the sides of her feet. She is now 14 years old and gave many years of excellent hunting

How severe is it? Can you post a pic? Since they're still very young if you take good care of them they should be fine. 9 weeks is very young for something like that to show up. Feed them a good food for adult dogs or for large breed pups and let them get lots of running and playing time.

Wow. Definitely bowed but like Bear said, it could be much worse with the dog walking on the sides or even the tops of its feet. Hopefully they will straighten out soon. You'd be surprised what the diet hange and other corrections you make can do in a short time. I'm glad the pups are so young. Has a vet seen the pups?

Mine all eat Purina One Chicken & Rice formula. It's a bit expensive but works for us. Avoid any food that seems really cheap as it won't be a savings in the long run. Whatever you feed, like Bear said you'll want to add the cod liver oil and vitamins/minerals since your pups already have the beginnings of a problem showing.
