I have a female bluetick that's had a litter of pups one week ago. The pups are fat and healthy. However momma looks terrible she has all the food and scraps she can eat but is skinny as a rail, she is otherwise in good shape. There are 8 pups and has plenty of milk. Is it to early to worry or should be fattening up by now,

Give her all the protein she will eat. The pups will take a lot out of her. If she doesn't pick up weight or starts to get worse take her to the vet.

I always put milk replacer & raw eggs in their feed & mixed it all up with hot water.
