Too bad we the people didn't get a revote when Obama got elected. The bill is moving on to the assembly appropriations. Call your your assembly members to oppose SB 1221.

I just seen on the news that a law passed in california banning hound hunting for bears and bobcats. They claim its not fair for the bears and bobcats, what a crock of ##*%*. Im really starting to get scared whats gonna happen in the next few years regarding new gun laws and hunting laws.

3/8/2013 | Press Release
Assemblyman Donnelly's AB 1230 Referred to Committee
Contact: Cassandra Joiner (760) 244-5277

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly announced that his Assembly Bill 1230 has been referred to the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife. AB 1230 will repeal SB 1221 (Yee), which banned hunters from working with hounds to pursue bears and bobcats, but exempted government from the new law.

"Dedicated citizens came out to oppose the hypocritical and purposeless government ban imposed by SB 1221 last year. They were ignored. I am excited to give their voice another chance to be heard," said Assemblyman Donnelly.

During SB 1221's hearing, many hunters expressed concern that bears that would normally be let go would now be shot. The dogs were used to corner bears to give the hunters opportunity to see if they were young or pregnant, in which case, they would be let free.

Further, SB 1221 meant the State would have to increase its own bear and bobcat hunting efforts, as many hunters could be deterred from continuing the critical service they provide in maintaining safe levels of these animal populations.

Assemblyman Donnelly continued, "AB 1230 will reverse the intrusive and harmful policy passed last year and restore the simple freedom our citizens enjoyed just months ago - to go hunting, safely, with their dogs."

SB 1230 is awaiting notice of a hearing date

Be prepared to stand up for yourself, if you did last year THANK YOU if you didn't here is your chance to do more than wonder what CHC is going to do, every hound hunter in California IS CHC, we are not paid lobbist or politicians we are houndsmen and we are all CHC!

What's the status of this now?...I'm one that wrote letters and made phone calls, but this is the first I've heard of this new effort.
