The flooring is great. We have it in our other kennels. Easy to clean and keeps the dogs healthier. Worth the money. Easy on their paws. And don't hold the germs like wood does.

Do you let your hounds out everyday for exercise then? I like the idea and have had a friend tell me they only used above ground runs for their hounds back in Tennessee. Interesting.

i have found that letting them out for excersize is no different then letting them out if they are on a chain or in a ground pen. if a dog paces on the ground it will pace off the ground. if it lays around on the ground it will lay around off the ground. actually the dogs muscles stay in better shape in off ground pens.
alot of people think a dog will just lay there in a off ground pen. ole mack turned 15 last july, he walks his pen like its a tread mill. an old boy asked me the other day what those bumps were on his legs.
lol they are muscles.

Just spend the past 2 days building one of these off ground kennels, only cost me $10 bucks for the screws, I had every thing else, I will post some pics tomarrow after I get it moved out of the barn and put in place. I made it 6 foot wide, 10 foot long. I have put one dog in it to see how she was going to like it and so far so good.

bark collar... sooner or later he will have to.
try putting a piece of wood , plywood or what ever about 1 ft wide and close to the same length of the pen. kinda like a walk way, once he is more use to the pen you can remove it. untill then just flip the plank over every couple days if he sh#ts on it.
if he uses his house for a bathroom, feed him in his doghouse. if that dont work to stop that, build a sub ceiling so he cant stand up or hump up to go in the house.
one dog i have is a left leg hiker, he would stand outside and wizz into the dog house through the doorway. i finally put the doorway on the front right side of the house insted of the front left side. he still pees on the house but it dont go into the house.

LOL I have to say when I read about the dog peeing through the door into his house..I rolled...But I will say these look like great ideas..and should I decide to get some hounds i will definitely use this kennel design.
