Gentlemen,

I used to sell Bobcat carcasses to a Chinese restaurant for $7. each 20 years ago before I moved to Denver. They don't sell it to customers but think of it as a delicacy and save it for when Granmaw and Grandpaw come over. They love cat meat and especially tigers but ate them all up a long time ago.
We even looked into sending giant frozen containers of Coyote carcasses to Taiwan the head game warden in Austin said when asked: ... pause...
I said that's a new one ain't it? And he laughed and said:
Yes. that is a new one. Do you think they would eat Coyote carcasses?"
I replied "I wouldn't think a starving Indian would eat a coyote but they want to try."
The head of all the game wardens in Texas just laughed and we parted good friends. by the way the buyer just needs a 'fur buyer license'.
And coon tastes real good but is too tough to chew. Just chew it till your jaws ache, spit it out and get another bite.

Thank you...

Jack the Knife

Thoughts on feeding the coon meat to your hounds? Raw or cooked?

I don't know if there is any truth to that but a guy i used to hunt with and he used to raise hounds he swore that if your hound would eat coon it would tree it but I've had some that would eat coon and never could get them to tree one lol.

We keep a few to eat and sell the rest. I get 8.00-10.00 each for coons around here.

They are pretty good on the pit. It's only so much I can eat so I give away the rest to the people around here. Some find them as a delicacy.Image

Can't sell it here in Michigan. It's illegal to sell game meat. I have a hound now and this is a good question to ask other houndsman.

Don't like the taste of it so I leave it for the buzzards.
