We have a wild pack of dogs in the area they just mauled a man at 5:30 in the morning after he fed his dog the man flat lined on the way to the hospital and was revived. this pack has be reported to be as small as 8 and as large as 23. We are way out in the country we have no animal control, we are animal control. Since I have never hunted a dog before I am asking yall what yall think would be the best way to go about this. I was thinking track them with my hounds but I dont want to loose my hounds then I was thinking bait them. What kind of bait should I use. what time of day should we try this for best results. Just looking for some good advice. Thanks

Baiting would be the way to go. You dont want to loose your hounds to this wild pack. Just bait them in with meat, make sure its up high so the scent carries. This should bring the dogs in if they are in the area. And you can either trap them or wait at your bait and take a couple out at a time. Shame that people let their dogs just run loose and after awhile they form a pack like that.

we had something like that happen here but it did not get as serious as mauling a man just loosing house cats and stuff like chickens the way we got rid of them was trap and them and we killed alot. i think in 3 years we totaled out at like around a hunderd in all

Bait them with a road kill Deer
Be sure tie or stake the deer down, so they don,t drag it off.
Then I would put about 20 snares in the trails. U should get them comming & going.
Talk to a real coyote trapper, he will tell u how to do it.
The dogs should be a lot eisier to trap than coyotes.

throw out some old meat in the open, get a few of your friends together and hang out in the bed of the truck till they show up and lay-em out!

If it were me I would call them many times while calling on the Navajo Rez. I have called in wild dogs some groups as larg as 15 they are way more dangerous because as with a coyote they fear man and will flee from a human the wild dogs are not afraid of us and more likely to fight. If you do call them make sure to take a buddy and a semi auto with you inorder to get more shots off.

Tell everyone to keep their dogs in and grind up some glass with raw meat and peanut butter and free feed them may take a few day for all to eat but works better than nothing

Call em with a dying rabbit just like fox or coyote. Since they're REALLY not afraid of humans you SHOULD use the buddy system & maybe use a climbing tree stand. Take plenty of ammo & have fun! It will take awhile to totally fix the problem.GOOD LUCK!!
