I just bought a beautiful 13 week Redbone puppy. I have been hunting coonhunting for a while and I have handled and work with lots of dog. But this will be the first puppy that I have ever try to train. What is a good age to start messing with him? What would yall suggest that I do when he is old enough to start messing with a bit? Should I use hides?
Thanks for your time and help!!!

I start messing with my pups as soon as Iget them. I work them with hides and scents. You could ask my uncle the difference it makes it made him a little mad when we took our young pups with us and mine was keeping up with the old dogs and staying in the woods with them while his still 2 months later stays at his feet. but one thing is dont ever let them have a hold of a live coon at young ages thats what hurts them.
