i have a 14 month old female leopard hound that i got this weekend and she is extremely skinny, but she eats fine, gums are pink, and has tons of energy. The previous owner wormed her a week ago but she isn't putting on weight yet. I'm going to wait a week and then take her to the vet, but if anyone has any advice I will be glad to have it. I don't know if maybe she just wasn't getting enough to eat or something but with winter coming she really needs some meat on her bones. Any advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated!

Might be tapeworms. most regular wormer wont kill tapeworms. Check her droppings for small white tapeworms- they look kinda like rice. If you see that, get some wormer made especially for tapeworms
