Well i took a cage coon and poured about a powerade bottle of water on it and i took off across my hay field and i was zigzaggin the whole way , i even shot into the corn field to see if they could follow a track completely, and then i went around some hills and finally came to a barn that is REALLY delapidated but still holding hay so i put the coon between some hay to keep the scent from floating... and did i mention it was 93 degrees... i took my dogs to where i knew the coon was washed down and they took off like greased lightning, lol i got to watch them track this track for 15 minutes, doing a lot of circles and such but they finally made it around the 14 acre field! not bad for 6 month old pups if you ask me!! haha

i walk hunt so i usually walk a pup around a creek and if he trees it wont take me to long to get to him. a lot of times when a pup starts treeing they aint going to be a lockdown tree dog on the first few trees and when i get there ill pet up good. ive heard that petting a dog up to much on the tree will make them tree happy, well i aint ever had that to happen myself. i aint had but very few that was tree happy or false treers but i got them dogs when they was not pups, i always sorta thought the slick tree dogs were bred and somewhere down his line was a slicker somewere, you can run but ya cant hide. lol :D

Sorry for not getting on for a while johnny, but we drug this last one around a 10 acre corn field, and since then they have ran a few coons around in the corn around my house, but i've kept them penned up for 3 days (except for when they get to run around the yard for 2 hours at dusk) because i really can't keep up with them in the corn at night and they took off the other day in the middle of the day and didn't come back for 5 hours, but i'm planning on takin them out this week to a creek like u said skeets.

Haven't been able to take them out yet... but if i forgot to tell u guys, my uncles farm a little over 5,000 acres and another over 1500 i think.... we have everything from river bottoms to just rolling hills, i guess u guys could say that we have a lot of places for these dogs to hit it home... lol
