It was cold with snow here in SE Oklahoma. I wore my LaCross rubber insulated boots and coveralls and still had to walk in circles to keep from freezing. My Mundo gyp struck and treed, all in about 5 seconds. She had interrupted the coon’s super. There was a freshly killed possum near the tree, with not a mark on him except a clean rip down his belly. His stomach cavity was cleaned out and there were coon tracks all around him. Clearly, the coon had killed the possum and had eaten the contents of his stomach. Ever wonder how those smart rascals survive when it’s so cold and food is scarce? This could be the answer.
