I apologize if I offend you, but that's just stupid! Leaving your dogs in the woods alone, anything could of happened to your dogs, while your buddy and you where getting food. If something would've happened to them y'all wouldn't of been around to help them out.

I had a good nite last Saturday nite. I recently sprained and fractured my right ankle, which has put an end to my work and my hunting.
At least I have a neighbor kid who loves to coon hunt and goes with me every time I go when he's allowed. He's 16 and thinks highly of my dogs since he has none but loves the sport.
Any how I let him and his 17 yr old cousin take my dogs and my gear and go hunting. They went behind my house and turned loose. I sat on the porch with a friend and listened. It was perfect. The dogs struck a few barks here and there. They kept working it. It got hotter and hotter. Then they was bawling and squalling, I mean hot. Then boom locates and fell treed on top of the mountain behind my house.
I heard the four wheeler start up then heard it shut off. Then the crack of the rifle. I was stoked and I was just sitn at the house. It was a text book hunt, you could say that didn't take much over hour from drop the dogs til they was back. The dogs treed 2 they said. They shot out the biggest which was a 15lb boar which is good sized where I live at.
I loved it and all I did was listen

perfect! you dont have to be in the hunt or shoot the coon all the time...its just the fact of hearing the dogs trail and tree that makes coon hunting all worth it!!!
