me and my stepdad was out hunting one night and we turned loose in a cornfield back behind my house. i had a 10 year old walker a 6year old redtick and a 8 month old walker pup. they were on a trail for about 30 minutes when my pup came back. my 6 year old and my 10year old were still gone we put my pup up and got out the fourwheeler and went were we could here them no matter where they wer. We started listening and heard my red dog coming in. we tied her to the fourwheeler and started walking down this old logging road. when we heard these coyotes howling where we heard the old dog bayed at my stepdad told me to turn on my light and he would shoot the coyotes. I told him if he sall my dogs collar not to shoot it. well we turned on the light and saw about 15 sets of eyes so we start shooting. then the gun jams and he tells me to shine my light at it. when we get it unjammed we shine up and there are 3 sets of eyes left my stepdad picks the middle one and shoots. all we here is my old dog bawling now so we run down into the log jam and look and he came limping to us. we carry him out and put him on the road and listen to his chest to make sure we didnt here any bubbling that might be a sighn of internal bleeding, so thats my story that old dog is still out treeing coons he is a tuff SOB!!!!

THAT is the kind of thing that would happen to me! Only it would be a bear... I am SO scared of bears! Beyond a normal fear. The coyotes would bother me too...but I grew up with a hybrid coyote-Germ Shep.... so it wouldn't be QUITE as bad as bear......:) Heather William
