My favorite thing to do with my coon hound is sneak him in the house when its cold outside and let him sleep in the house. Usually hiding him in my room where he sleeps at the feet of my bed. Anybody else?

The old tale that if a dog lived on the house it would ruin their nose is B.S. I had a daughter of hammer 3 that my wife treated like a queen and she made note CH by tree in layups that other dogs in cast couldn't even smell.

i agree about the dogs in the house thing. somebody that honestly thinks a hound that sleeps in the house cant hunt is full of something other than experience. the best hound ive ever had or hunted with slept inside about 5.5 out of 7 years.

and about sneaking them inside, im not sure theres many tips to give. haha i always had the same problem when i was growing up. ya might just have to wait it out til you can get your own place. or maybe try making a deal with your ma? maybe something like youll only keep the dog in the one room, take it out first thing in the morning, give it a bath everytime you want to take it in for the night, then sweep/vacuum the next day? seems like alot of work but maybe worth a shot?

good luck either way!
