I have a 2 yr old hound, he trees coon by himself and with company. He goes hunting good, but if he don't strike a coon he will circle back around me and hit the road and barks no stop while doing it. Ive droped him deep in the woods, and he will hunt don't find a track and hit a field road. Sometimes it leads him to coon sometime not. He has never been droped on a hot track off the road, I take him to the woods and let him go find his own. I have shocked him on the road. I am just out of ideas here.

I would also love to hear thoughts on this. We have a four year old walker female that does this. She has ran a mile straight down the road before only to turn around and come straight back. It does seem that she does this mostly when the coons are laid up.
