when she trees a possom shock her or smack her on the head. another good way is to order a clip that connects to your hounds collar that has a sponge on the clip that you put breaking scent on. you will need to order the possum breaking scent with the clip and sponge. this is in the nite lite cataloge. you can get all that pretty cheap. this makes your dog discusted with the smell of a possum and your dog never wants to smell a possum again. and will prolly have no more interest in possums. alot of guys say they dont work well but i have had and heard of good experiences with them. good luck

Next time that dog trees a possum or kills one on the ground take that dog and put your leash on him. Once you got the leash on him throw it over a heavy branch and lift him up so he is hangin, dont do it to long but when you got him hangin beat the dog with possum. H e will get tired of it. Some people think its wrong but that dog wont wanna go through that again.

If you dont wanna beat the dog then the next grinner she trees get it out and cover it with gas or ammonia and let the dog grab it and when she does scold her real good and i belive that will work.....it worked for a buddy of mine for dillers.....it may take a few times but he aint ran one since, but a good ol fasion whoopin and a shock coallar does good to.

well i have had luck with them but all my dogs are excellent hunters now and i havent used a breaking scent and collar in a long time. every now and then they will run across a possum and....BZZZZZ. SHOCK COLLAR, hard. i havent had trouble with a possum for along time. E collar is the best or second best way to stop your dog from running trash.

i have used the amonia on shakeout possum then cut the dog on it and fry the heck out of them soon as they touch it. it works good on some dogs. another way that has worked even better is to break the dog in a kennel crate by adding the amonia and throw possum in with it then lite him up. if dog is afraid of a possum or diller they want mess with them.

i know a guy who beat his dog with a possum
it was dead and a little possum
then when the bodly was gone (it broke away from the tail) he whiped the dog with the tail
never treed another possum is what he said but that is really drastic

imp theres no reason to beat your dog with it...i just don't see the point in that...if he trees one either tap him a little on the nose or fry him...start out low on the e collar and then move on up the levels

wow there are some strange ways out there.lol when my dogs treed one for the first time i just leashed em and walked away down about 150 200 yards and turned em out, they ended up on a coon the next time they did it i shot the possum out and when she grabede it i layed down the shock and every time she looked at it i put it on her it hasent happened in about a month now but not sayin they are broke yet just a suggestion.

You never want to shoot anything out to your dog you. Dont want them to tree...Catch one in a live trap and let them bay it first..Then try it...
