THNX !!! He is the only hound of ours that we dont hunt. I bought him to show and so I havent taken him because I dont want him ruined for showing because of a hunting accident. One bad step could mess his gait up for life ya know ? But I've showed him a few caged coons in the yard and he worked those very well, he trees squirrels in the yard by himself, and has also let himself out of the yard a few times (he's an escape artist) and went in behind the house and treed on the creek. He's dual bred and has all the tools, got a good LOUD mouth, but we just dont push him. Maybe after I've done all the showing I'm going to with him we will but right now I've got my hands full with trying to finish titleing our 3 adults & training the 2 pups !!!

kayla- i have never showed and had no interest in it really, but i didnt think a coonhound could be docked for cuts/defects that were caused while hunting? im jsut askin out of pure curiousity. thanks

No they are not docked for scars, Vegas is actually missing a small notch from one ear due to a caged coon. When I said I didnt want him messed up for showing I meant being injured as in a muscle tear, pull, or even stabbed from coming down on a stick, which would mess up his gait. I had a really good dual bred Plott with super nice conformation that I bought to show but was hunting him too. He tore a muscle in his kneecap on the tree one nite and always had a slight limp after that, even after alot of treatment at the vet and crate rest. It ruined him for national level bench shows and all breed conformation shows where the movement of the dog counts for so much.

VERY nice looking dogs. lol. all of them. especially Copper. Gorgeous. and its nice to see some hot pink collars i thought i was the only one

Haha girl no, all my stuff is pink !!! Collars, leads, coupler, show choke collar, reflective bands, bumper helment, & one tracking collar (the other 2 are purple & orange). I love how both our dogs' names are Wakin Up N Vegas !!!! That's neat ! Thnx for the compliment, I think Copper is gorgeous to be a hunt bred dog and he's a coondog to boot.
