I have a female and was wondering if anybody had some pics of the kennels they keep there there females in. I heard that males will come from 5 miles to a female in heat, thell climb dig or whatever it takes to get to the female. I also heard they can breed them through the fence.

i know a guy and he and his dad would put the female in heat in a old car with the windows only open enough to get a breeze and so she could breath
the seats were her beds and they fed her and watered her like normal then took he out once she was out of heat

I wouldn't advise anyone to do that.............Not only is it inhumane, could get you in trouble.

I've known many people who used stock trailers/horse trailers, and it seems to work pretty good, I would just have to get my girls out and walk them on a leash every day to get them some exercise as normal.

We have 10x10 chain link pens we just take 4 sheets of tin like u use on a house and put s-hooks in it, hang it longways around the bottom of the pen. You can buy it pretty reasonable at home depot we got the galvanized allready cut to 10 feet, and the best part is when she isn't in heat u can hang it in the sides for shade, another thing that works good is hardware cloth u can run it around the pen and just leave it there year round

When i lived on a farm and ran dogs i had chicken houses, one two story would put the dog in heat on the top floor, got the smell off the ground, never had any trouble of dogs trying to get in.

Brood pens are really great. This one has a 10x10x6 kennel attached. All it would need is one more 10x10x6 panel for the top and it is "male" proof.
Here is another shot
And for kicks here is a shot of the inside....complete with heat lamp.

im building a new kennel set up...
near our goat barn... so im going to run electric fence under ground to my lots.. then run the electric "tape" wire about 4 strands high all the way around my lots... keep it off when my dogs aitn in heat.. then when they are turn it on... zap any male that comes close... its a good method
