im new to coon hunting and i was finishing my kennel and its on the geround cause its part of an old barn and i was going to put 53bs for drainig and then sparsly spered corse lime not powder lime and then straw or shavings would that be good or not thanks lee

lime will burn a dogs feet,the moisture in their pads will cause the lime to activate.i would not use shavings or anything on the ground that would hold moisture. wet straw or wet shavings will harbor parasites,.just use dirt,coarse sand or a cement floor and keep it clean.
