I've always had luck with slicing an apple rubbing it all over the cage and then putting the apple in the cage for bait. As far for feed i've never raised rabbits but there's all kinds of commericial feed at feed stores and tractor suppley. I know Gander mt. sells a lure just for rabbits but i've never used it.

My buddys grandpa raises rabbits. You actually might be able to go to like an orchlens or farm and home and just buy some rabbits. My buddys grandpa goes to the M.F.A and buys just regular rabbit feed. But that depends if you want wild rabbits or not.

the best way i have found to catch wild rabbits is get you some rabbit urine and put it in your trap when a rabbit comes by he goes in to see who the new neighbor is make sure when you do this cover you trap so it looks like a hole leaves work well put by rabbit trails

wild rabbits will not live in captivity very long. They get to stresed out.

I have raised rabbits before and you would be better off with a domesticated rabbit. If you want it for meat a rex would proably be the easiest but other breeds like lops and californias also work well for meat rabbits.

I had a live trap in my back yard to catch squirrels and baited it with salted sunflower seed. I caught one rabbit 3 times, don't see how he got in that small trap, but he was after the sunflower seeds. the salt was what he was after,I would pull him out spank his butt turn him loose go in the house and watch him come back for the seeds.
when I was going to high School and lived on a farm I would catch 3 to 4 rabbits each morning, tried to raise them but won't work, I had a pack of rabbit dogs and I would take a rabbit to the edge of the woods and turn him loose and would have a heck of a race.

Find a place where rabbits have been traveling. Place the trap there. I only used half a apple and cut it up in to pieces and lured the rabbit into the trap. Put some on the outside so he can get a taste of it first. When checking the trap try not getting to close to it. I found catching rabbits a lot harder than coons. But this above is just what worked for me. Good luck.
